Edie (Schechter) Block is a 28-year veteran of the entertainment and fashion industry. She grew up in NYC in the halls of CBS, NBC, and Lincoln Center alongside her mom, a local 829 scenic artist, and dad, a New York theatre actor and an LA-based character actor. Her artistic parents’ nomadic lifestyle led to a life of ever-changing geography that allowed Edie to become a consummate observer of the evolving fashion of the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Seeing these varying regional styles inspired her and influenced her to later curate her own collection vintage that reflected what people were wearing at the time. As a result of both her personal and professional experiences with the fashion and entertainment industry, her approach is always specific and unique to the project’s needs and aesthetic.
Select TV and film credits from her time in production, include five seasons of HBO’s Sex and the City Set Decorating Department, Neil Jordan’s In Dreams (editing dept.), Daisy Von Scherler Mayer’s Madeline (editing dept.), and Lasse Hallstrom’s assistant for the Academy Award-winning The Cider House Rules. Other production credits include Boiler Room, Glitter, The Guru, and Shaft 2000. Acting credits include The Cider House Rules and indie cult-classic Smithereens by Susan Seidelman.
